Q. How do I download the game?
A. Open "Dream Seeker" and navigate to DMO's hub page. Click the "Download" link there.
Q. How do I host?
A. Open Duel Monsters Online. Click the "Host..." button the lower right hand corner of the "Dream Seeker" window.
Q. I am hosting but no one can join
A. Try BYOND Networking or Network Security And BYOND. For extra information on configuring your router and/or firewall for hosting, check out Port Forward.com.
Q. How do I become a staff member?
A. You can't. We have all the Staff Members we need.
Q. Are you going to add anymore cards or sets?
A. Possibly, but it's unlikely any more sets will be added.
In Game
Q. What do I do if a host bans or mutes me?
A. It's best to wait until the ban expires, try to solve this problem yourself without involving the staff. Avoid getting angry or demanding action from the host, it's best to speak in a mature manner.
Q. I want to be a moderator or Tournament Master, what should I do?
A. You have to talk to the host, but many hosts dislike being asked for moderator so I strongly recommend you don't.
Q. A player is harrassing me, what should I do?
A. You can use the "Block List" feature to prevent hearing anything that player says.
Q. I've encountered a bug, what should I do?
A. You can ask your opponent to verify it is a bug and not a ruling error. If you are both unsure, post it on the forums and politely ask to cancel the duel(However, there is no punishment for losing, you still gain duel total for participating).
Q. I want to duel someone but no one is coming to my table.
A. Stand on the left side of a table and click the Challenge button, you will be able to set a duel request.
Q. How do I make a deck?
A. Click the Deck Edit button at the top of your screen. You will be able to create a deck here.(Help file has detailed information on how to do this)
Game related
Q. What are staples?
A. "Staple" is a term for a card that is commonly used, such as Raigeki and Monster Reborn. It is not an official term.
Q. How do I unlock hats/pets and icons?
A. Try many different things against bots, you will gain bonuses which may unlock various icons.
Rankings
Q. Will my duels count if I left before the tournament ended?
A. Yes. Any duels your were in will count towards your record.
Q. How do rankings work?
A. It goes up as you win and down as you lose. Defeating higher ranked players helps.
Q. Can I reset my rankings?
A. No, you cannot.
Q. Can you transfer my ranking to another key?
A. No, the staff will not do this.
Duelist Kingdom Tournament
Q. Can I host the tournament?
A. No, the tournament will only be held by admins.
Q. Can you enter me once the Tournament has started or restart the tournament so I can enter?
A. No. We cannot add new duelists into tournament once it has begun. It is your responsibility to be there on time.
Q. How do I get a Sub-Deck?
A. Just make a Deck of 10 cards then use "Get Deck Code".
Q. How do I get my Deck Code?
A. In Deck Edit, select "Load" then "Deck Codes". Choose "Get Code" from the menu that pops up.
Q. I missed registration, when is the next tournament? Can you hold another once it's done?
A. We will only hold them when previously scheduled. The next tournament will be announced ahead of time. Check the site or forums for details.
Q. My Deck Code isn't being accepted, what do I do?
A. Check the tournament rules again and make sure your Deck is compatable.
Q. How do I know if I am registered?
A. Click the "Ladder" button and see if your name is in the list. You should get a message when you register.
Q. I'm in the Preliminaries but I can't find anyone to duel
A. Check Deck Editing areas or walk to the center of the island and wait near the castle, other's might find you there.
Q. The Preliminaries have ended but I didn't progress, should I leave?
A. No, if there aren't 8 finalists, the remaining will be selected from those in the Preliminaries. You can also watch the finals.
Q. What happens if I don't duel?
A. Your ranking will be low.
Q. I have to leave during the tournament, is it okay if I forfeit to my friend?
A. We don't approve of it, but by doing that your ranking will decrease. You're only hurting yourself.
Q. The players in the preliminaries are refusing to duel, will they be disqualified?
A. No, however they reduce the chance that they will be picked for the tournament. Entering the castle by yourself will increase rank, being admin selected won't.
Q. My opponent is wasting time because they are going to lose, what should I do?
A. Ask an admin to check the duel. The player may be disqualified and/or banned from future tournaments.
Q. I encountered a bug and i'm about to lose because of it, what should I do?
A. Talk to an admin and explain the bug before you end the duel. They may cancel the duel for you.
Q. The tournament has xx Restricted Points and xx Shadow Points, does this mean the shadow points are included in restricted points?
A. No, Restricted Points and Shadow Points are completely seperate. Restricted Points are for legal cards. Shadow Points are for shadow cards.
